This is the first post on my new blog. My plan is to travel to Washington State to visit family and friends, starting July 17, 2019. I will be driving, and staying in ‘The DogHouse’. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Hopefully this will force me to slow down, to write and take pictures. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates.

Introduction

My name is Dohm Jellison. I am a retired disabled Navy Veteran, I also retired as a engineer in the commercial fishing industry. I spend my time as a Veteran advocate, and as a advocate for the disabled, as a member of the Sandwich Commission of Disabilities. I love fishing, boating on Cape Cod.

The DogHouse

The DogHouse is a 2019 Travel Lite Slide-in Camper, on a 2012 Toyota Tundra. The Tundra has custom built bumpers, that is equipped with a winch. This to meet with our local beach requirements. Also on the Tundra, is a onboard air compressor, rear load air bags, and dual batteries.

The Travel Lite is a fully self contained camper. It is equipped with a dual bank battery system, solar panels, and a inverter/charger, to control the electrical system.

There are cargo trays, front and back. The front holds a 14ft inflatable kayak, the rear cargo tray holds my tools and miscellaneous gear. I have a bike, that will be carried on the campers ladder. The rear cargo tray also acts as a step/deck, making the camper easier to access while on the road/beach.
